I want to tell about another semi-frightening experience I had with my istD: I had used it a bit in the rain and then it wouldn't fire the AF360FGZ flash, except in A mode. The flash worked fine on my MZ-S. I was just about to have it repaired, but put it off as I don't use flash that much. Then yesterday it wouldn't autofocus with my FA50mm lens, although it would wth my 24-90. At this point, I thought some of the contacts might be dirty, but it didn't explain the flash misfiring. It turned out it was just the batteries. As soon as I put fresh ones in the camera everything worked fine. I've made a mental note to suspect the batteries every time something strange happens with the istD.
