"The 10D 'could' be the unexpected hurdle which will destroy Pentax's careful and meticulous planning. Trouble is, we don't know what market they plan selling it to - this is why we need to know price to find out. We also don't know for sure that Pentax will one day go full frame - you know absolutely that Canon are committed, and that it is currently an option in Nikon. A little more information could sort out all the concerns..."
Pentax cannot be so stupid that they didn't consider that Canon would come out with another low end camera. The only thing that they had to wait for was the price ($1500) The BIG question now is how will Pentax react. If they can beat the Canon price by a reasonable amount, say $1200, they're still in good shape.
