Because I am not a long-time Pentax user. (Though the P&S I bought about 25 years ago is a Pentax). So I came up with some reasons. 1. When I was growing up (late 50's and through the 60's) Pentax was considered the best or one of the best. 2. I get sick and tired of bigger companies driving smaller companies out of business. Like the way M$ has driven tons of others out of business. And I think market diversity is a very good thing for the consumer. 3. It would mean I wasn't a total idiot for buying a K-1000 to learn photography. And not an idiot for later buying a ZX-5n from someone on this list to continue my photography experience. Doe aka Marnie The last, of course, is the most important. ;-)
