Precisely.
I remember the old equipment days, and much prefer the new
equipment days.
What you are seeing isn't a loss of quality due to a change in
equipment, but a loss of quality due to the fact that
photofinishing is no longer a profession, but a means to an end.
18 year old kids putting themselves through school are now the
engine that drives minilabs.
None of them are interested in making a career out of it, and
frankly, I don't blame them. The pay isn't great, and the abuse
levels are often intolerable.
