I suspect there are some that still work because I think I see
them operating when I'm manually sniping myself. I think users
leave a little margin before the auction ends (I think I would
if I were using automated software because you can never
synchronize with eBay's clock exactly). I see quite a few bids
come in between two minutes and one minute before the close of
the auction (watched it on an item *I* was selling once!).
Whereas those of us who manually snipe generally wait until the
last 15 seconds or so.
