Perhaps they changed something mid-way through the production run; I just checked and my PZ-1p has a distinct mechanical detent half way through the shutter switch movement. You can feel and hear it even with the camera turned off. My MZ-S, on the other hand, doesn't have the tactile mechanical detent at the half way point of its shutter switch movement but I agree it's very easy to use. -- Mark Roberts Photography and writing www.robertstech.com
