It seems to be stuck on 99 ppercent; is this normal? The whole file is at a
low volume, so I don't know if just "normalization will help!

On my copy of Direct Cut, normalization is a few items below Gain in the
Edit menu. If you select the file as noted and go down to Normalize and
press enter, you should get a significant increase in volume.

Okay..I'm obviously missing something here! I thought I did see a
"normalization" thing, but don't see it now! I see numbers; I see "flat
button"..but what I don't see is where I'm supposed to change the volume!
Sorry, but need more explanation please!

With the file loaded, press the home key and then b to mark the
beginning. Press the end key and then n to mark the end. Go into the
Edit menu and try the default setting for the gain. Also, you may want
to just try normalizing, which often suffices.

Hello list: Hopefully someone can get me on the right track here: I
know that MP3 Direct Cut has a "gain" feature. I tried using it to
raise the volume level of a file I have, with no success! So I need
step-by-step instructions as to how to accomplish this! Using Windows
XP and Jaws 14. Thanks for any info or help you can impart!
