Part of your problem is your email client. Anything that has "basic"
in its name, or comes from an Internet service provider like yours
does, doesn't, or won't, allow any fancy stuff like what you're
wanting to do. But if you can possibly figure a way to edit that link,
the methodology is simply to provide a URL, a pathname, to the file
you want the person to access. If you have DropBox, for instance, take
a look at the kind of link you get when you copy a public link to your
clipboard and paste it into, say, Notepad. There's the DropBox URL
that begins with dl.dropbox.com and ends with a slash plus the name of
the file in question. Same idea here. Wherever your file is sitting on
the web has a definite URL pointing to it. You just have to figure out
what that URL is, and paste it into your email message.
