But if I understand correctly, with later versions of Winamp, you cannot
access the library, thus, one wouldn't be able to delete or edit a bookmark!
Is this correct or no?

All Winamp versions are accessible. Use the classic skin.
The latest version is probably 5.621 as Chris says...I have 5.61 myself
and I thought that was the most recent. It shouldn't really matter too
much in any case; most of the changes will be minor.
Ninite is great, but winamp is easily installable as is. Just download
from winamp.com

www.ninite.com/winamp.
The latest and greatest will work providing you tell Winamp
to use the
classic and not the modern skin.
