hello, yes you can install it yourself. i installed the complete program &
files my self with no problems.
i just made some changes today with my soundcard to inhance the sound and
its working great.

hello, i have the xfi soundcard. and it sounds like not all options were
installed for you. i have eq settings as well as various mode options,
game,
entertainment, and audio creation mode.
plus a ton of other inhancing options.
you might want to run updates from creative to see what you have and there

Do you have advanced controls in the windows mixer?
My older Creative card didn't have that option till I rebuilt my system.
Then all of a sudden, I had tone controls under the advanced button in
the
mixer. Before that, I had to mss around with the Creative Surround
mixer,
locking the Jaws cursor at just the right place and using Jaws mouse up
and
down key strokes to get the tone controls to work.
I hope your X-FI installer put in standard tone controls under advanced
controls in the Windows mixer.
