I stand by what I said, the TTS was never put there with accessability in mind.

Blind organisations have actually made feelings known about the touch screen on an I phone but having said that Apple has done allot to impliment accessability into the device, the nature of the device stops us from using it which is unfortuante however if you have a bit of vision then you'll have no trouble whatsoever in using the I phone I'm told. Various options regarding accessability for the I phone are being explored, the most likely being the use of a blue tooth or similar keyboard. May I remind listers that if Apple certainly haven't done anything about speech on a mobile phone then neither has Nokia, Samsung or most other phone manifacturers, its been up to third party developers to get that ball rolling such as those who have developped Talks, Hal who have a system out to get mobile phones to speak etc. On 19/07/2007, at 10:56 AM, Don Ball wrote: maybe it has a touch screen like the I Phone. Still don't know why blindness organizations aren't calling them on that but I gues they don't fill that is worth the trouble. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Keith Gillard" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "PC audio discussion list. The majority of the sighted market. definitely not the accessible market I've been using a 120 gig hard drive on an accessible jukebox for three years now. It's nice to see that Apple is finally catching up. kG. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dane Trethowan" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "PC audio discussion list. Now, if your telling me that Apple is going to launch the promised speech capabilities of Ipods, then I will really be impressed...KG ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dane Trethowan" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "PC audio discussion list." <pc-audio@pc-audio.org> Sent: Wednesday, July 18, 2007 4:29 PM Subject: 6th generation IPOD's Comin Ok, that's what today's press here is writing about and what's so good about this. Some excellent features on the way including Wi-Fi built-in and best of all in my view, blue tooth compatibility for file transfer and stereo communications with headphones and speakers and a 120 Gig hard drive. ****************************** Dane Trethowan From Melton Victoria Australia Email [EMAIL PROTECTED] phone uk 0121 288 4976 Phone/tty (+61 3) 9747 975 Fax +61 3 9743 7954 mobile/sms: +61425 777 508 Skype: callto:grtdane12 MSN: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ****************************** -------------------------------- Join the fight against spam!
