Yeah, that is how the Overdrive service works. There's also the MuVo line of MP3 players from Creative. I know they've been mentioned here before. There's the Nomad MuVo's which come in 64M and 128M sizes and then the MoVo Mix's which come in 256M and 512M sizes. I have a Nomad MuVo myself, the 128M size, and it works well with MP3's, WMA's and Audible's format. It does support picking up where you left off. I find that it does OK with large files, but you do lose the audio feedback when you're fast forwarding at the end of a large file.
I bought the Nomad MuVo a while ago, so my facts above may be a bit off. I also had to upgrade the firmware to get it to support the Audible file format and the pick up where you stopped feature.
