Brent! Plugging anything but a turntable into the phono input will make that thing sound bad. The phono input is different from all the others. When a record is made a lot of the lower frequency audio signal is removed from it in order to fit the sound physically on the vinyl record. When the record is played back that missing signal has to be replaced and this is what the phono input does. It will add that missing signal into the signal coming from any source.
