Sure. Today might be tricky though, I will be away during the Barometer call. I’m using Prometheus since it’s in scope for control plane monitoring as part of the OpenStack Helm based platform we are building as the next version of the AIC: see https://www.openstack.org/assets/edge/slides/Kandan-AT-T-Edge-Talk-Opendev.pdf
I’m not using it in any specific way yet, except to get familiar with it as part of the toolchain. We may want to work on Prometheus as a VES data source though at some point. I’m using InfluxDB as a simple and low-overhead way to build a local TSDB for VES data, so we can start writing tests that analyze VNF/platform aspects and execute closed-loop control ala ONAP DCAE. It may fit better than Hadoop (e.g. in weight at least) for a TSDB local to an edge cloud, for local closed-loop control. BTW I am now using the Barometer container and really appreciate not having to build it. It also fits with the goal that every component in the VES framework that can be containerized, will be, and will be managed through kubernetes as services that are assigned to nodes through labels, and managed by kubernetes for resiliency. This is all a work in progress. Do you use InfluxDB as long-term storage of Prometheus data? We would love to see a demo during the Barometer meeting when it's running. Pretty soon I will be using Cloudify-kubernetes blueprints to deploy the Agent, Collector, and other components (Prometheus, InfluxDB, Grafana) as services on the k8s master node (using labels to deploy them there).
