Hello, I think Ulas is correct, multisite project is one requirement and feature implementation project (Multisite project is focusing on OpenStack as the VIM layer to support multisite NFV cloud) , but not a project focuses on infrastructure and test bed establishment. It would be great to see that the OPNFV cross project effort on building real multi-site test infrastructure, currently multi-site project is using pre-installed/simulated multi-site envionment, it's good enough for multisite kingbird test, but may be not good enough for all other projects which provides in features in multi-site area, for example, domino/IPv6.

Multisite project is focusing on OpenStack as the VIM layer to support multisite NFV cloud. But Domino and Opera use cases are looking at multi-site NFV cloud use case above the VIM (multiple VIMs with some VIMs not even supporting OpenStack). Despite this difference, how multi-site project realized multiple data-center scenario and performed testing over the existing Pharos infrastructure would be relevant to other projects (and vice versa). Anyhow, the point is to share the experience of one project with other projects that may have similar needs on the OPNFV infrastructure and testing. If multi-site project wants to host a meeting and expose a wiki page for each project to share their experience in multi-cloud, multi-site use cases, that would be fine, too. So far no one from the multi-site project have responded to this thread, let’s see what they have to say. I don't think it's very intuitive to go to Project D for use cases for Project M. Rather than spin up a new initiative or wiki page in parallel to spread us even thinner I would suggest coordinating and driving our solutions in that project. / Chris From: <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> on behalf of "SULLIVAN, BRYAN L" <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> Date: Monday, 31 October 2016 at 16:27 To: Ulas Kozat <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>>, TECH-DISCUSS OPNFV <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> Subject: Re: [opnfv-tech-discuss] Support for multi-site development and testing In particular as discussed today on the Domino call: - What Pharos lab environments do you use for any multi-site testing - What multi-site-distributed VNF use cases have you worked on, and related aspects such as how you create the inter-VNF networking per VNF connection points - What if any “site agents” you are working on that aggregate site-related state etc and sync that with some multi-site “master” function (e.g. a global orchestrator or monitoring system) These are all topics that are in scope for Domino to some degree. I created a link under MANO WG https://wiki.opnfv.org/display/mano/Multi-Site+Support so that we can aggregate use cases from different projects in one place. Please pitch in. It would be also interesting to learn how any of the existing OPNFV projects (e.g., multisite, IPv6, etc.) had circumvented their multi-site needs for testing and development.
