Thanks to juhosg, I am using OpenWrt with the TP-LINK WDR4900 (image I built myself from trunk, r36112). However, I managed to brick my device and have discovered that failsafe mode doesn't seem to work. I can enter it, but no interfaces are configured (I have confirmed this using console access).
I am guessing, but is this because /etc/preinit (in the system image) does not set a value for fs_failsafe_ifname? Or is the interface name used in failsafe supposed to come from somewhere else? What is the normal way for the build to insert the correct interface name for the device being built? Thanks in advance for any help.
