the BIG patch I've sent is based on tag "lsp-3.1.0". The other smaller
patch is specific to my board.

I have investigated the possibility for OpenWRT to get a kernel directly
from a git instead but apparently it's not possible, unless such git
already has the OpenWRT patches applied.

I was suggested by people that I spoke with on IRC to make such patch.

You should remove everything that not related to your target.
