 openwrt strip many things. I don't know what exactly dco needs.
wireguard need  a kernel module so I compiled it:
root@OpenWrt:~# lsmod | grep chacha
chacha20poly1305        5522  0

but as you said opevpn-dco need different things? I will need to check
"make menuconfig" to find out.
