Osol /dev releses were never "updated software". They were development
releses.

Everone sane enough, had only option of paying Opensolaris support to
have security and other updates. Only thing that was left unfulfilled
was 2010 release. So no changes there with Solaris Express actually.
Change is the name of binary release product (and brending) and in
developing behind closed doors with some kind of promise that code will
be released After .iso's are out.

But yes, /dev as development releases as we know it, shifted from
Opensolaris to Illumos.org and OpenIndiana.org with also releases in
mind and in prospect. (and other contributing distributions, like
Nexenta etc.)
If followed /dev, one can follow OpenIndiana.org and Illumos.org
repositories and source, like before.
