Because I've learned that OpenSolaris has this feature now. Debian has different releases/branches for different users: Stable (for server), unstable and testing . its stable version is equivalent to Solaris 10, its testing/unstable version may be equivalent to Open Solaris Developer/Community version (right?), for normal users, one big difference between both is: updating on Debian -like system is very easy, but updating on OpenSolaris is quite difficult.
