I do not know. It seems to me the problem may well be not with
OpenOCD but with libftdi.

The current libftdi-1.0 is supposedly a drop-in replacement of
libftdi even though the underline libusb version is different
(libusb-1.0 and libusb-0.1). So supposedly the dll from
libftdi-1.0 can be a drop-in replaement of the dll from libftdi.

Freddie's binary is built with libusb-win32 (libusb-0.1)
and libftdi. So you may need both libusb0.dll and libftdi.dll
(either from 1.0 or from 0.18).
