The time for a new name was when the brand was established - all the coverage the project received. Also, the name makes sense and thus communicates what it is reasonably well. Changing the name will throw all that coverage right out the window and confuse people. Maybe it is a shame the name was chosen without more community input, but it doesn't negate the problems with a name change right now.
