Bug ID: 471259 Summary: Slowing down, then, sometimes crash when using inline text annotation Classification: Applications Product: okular Version: 23.04.1 Platform: Manjaro OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: major Priority: NOR Component: PDF backend Assignee: okular-devel@kde.org Reporter: mabobakrelsedi...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY When using the "inline text" annotation, the appearance of the words i am typing is very slow, the okular start slowing down and not responding. sometimes it respond after i stop taking the inline text; other times a message appear that the application is too busy and ask me to force quit or wait. when i looked at the process that is running, when i try to take inline text annotation, okular appear the number one application in using the CPU; it uses a great amount of CPU. but once i stopped taking the annotation it return to normal. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. open any pdf file 2. click ALT + F6 to open inline text annotation 3. use the mouse to select the area in which you want the annotation to appear 4. once the box opened - in which you take notes inside - start typing your notes 5. okular will slow down and the words will appear on the box after a long time of typing it EXPECTED RESULT when i use okular on windows this problem does not appear - with the same PDF file or different one. and when i was using okular on Ubuntu, the same problem, also, does not appear. it seems that the problem is related to manjaro. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
