While off topic, I thought this might be of interest to New York birders. A TUFTED PUFFIN has been found among the Atlantic Puffin Colony on Machias Seal Island off the coast of Jonesport Maine. The bird has been well photographed. To see the reports and photos simply go to the Maine RBA. This is an easily accessed location, trips go out daily, and may be a way for some to add this mega-rarity to their life list. I think this is a first record for the Atlantic.
