The Queens County Bird Club Inc. will be meeting at the Alley Pond Environmental Center 228-06 Northern Blvd Douglaston, NY 11362-1906 http://www.alleypond.com/directions.htm at 8pm on Wednesday *October 19th*  { the third Wednesday of the month} Our Speakers will be *Trudy Battaly and Drew Panko* doing a presentation on Northern Saw-whet Owls Saw-whets in Your Backyard? Trudy Battaly and Drew Panko will describe using radio telemetry and visual searching we studied roost sites and movements of Northern Saw-whet Owls in various habitats in southeastern New York State. Owls were banded during fall at Westchester Community College in suburban Valhalla NY, and during winter/spring at Pelham Bay Park in New York City and the extensive woodland of Harriman and Bear Mountain State Parks. A summary of roost site characteristics will include photos and videos as well as the proportion found in or near backyards and suburban habitats. *We will also be having a Book Auction* Non members and guests are invited to join us for our meetings featuring noted guest speakers and to join us on our renowned field trips. * QCBC is a tax exempt, charitable organization {501c3}.  * Arie Gilbert President: *Queens County Bird Club Inc*.
