As a first step I would recommend upgrading to the latest kernel from
http://kernel.org - 2.6.13 at least.

If you can work out how to do it I would also recommend testing on
Linus git tree - at http://kernel.org/git

There are many, many patches going in all the time so I would
recommend this or else other developers won't start looking at it.
