At this point I'd never suggest the US should be a good place for
immigration. Definitely not now. There's a deep sense of cruelty
everywhere I think; it's in the air. -

Dear Alan Of course every country is a complex canvas of multiple contents.
Again in my first meeting with Noam Chomsky he told me don?t believe the US is
composed only of new liberals or bigots I travel to small parishes in the
country side and ask money to support Nicaragua and people open their
wallets and leave thousands of dollars. Small people poor households they
know what?s matters.
I mean the same country who pay for weapon to Israel has though USAID
supported Palestinian schools for ages. A real contradiction since Israel
has often brmbed the same schools the US paid for.

But our discussion was to try to analyze the fascination the US has as land
to emigrate to. And I try to understand it and fail all the time. My bad.

Not sure how to reply to this, I agree mostly with you but the
country isn't that coherent, totalized; it's more complex,
leaky, and there's pushback as well.
I don't think anyone believes the tv selling dreams etc. - not in my
experience, and I've lived all over the place. Of course that doesn't
mean that's right.

No serie showing the people living on food stamps or sleeping on

clothes for the children or school books.
I remember John Steinbecks book the Grapes of Wrath or any book
from the time showing the deep social gaps making the US to one
of the most unequal countries in the world.
A country ruled by a class of obscene wealthy people who can
afford to spend trillions of dollars in wars but nothing on
their own poor population.

I remember as well when Eisenhower said we are the hostages of
the military industrial establishment.

Or remember Noam Chomsky I met him several times went to the MIT
to make a long interview with him. He said to me Ana don?t believe
we have here two parties we have only one party the Dems and the
Republicans share the power and they switch between them then
and then but none of them care for the people only for their own
ambitions and the loyalty to their donors.
They own them.

And today is more clear Musk owns Trump and Trump is Musks
puppet.
