Not sure how to reply to this, I agree mostly with you but the country isn't that coherent, totalized; it's more complex, leaky, and there's pushback as well. I don't think anyone believes the tv selling dreams etc. - not in my experience, and I've lived all over the place. Of course that doesn't mean that's right.
