I have a similar (?) problem with pgp-encrypted MIME messages
that are strangely re-MIME'ed by our institutional IMAP server
from (the "correct" version sent and understood by mutt):

  1 multipart/encrypted
  1.1 application/pgp-encrypted
  1.2 application/octet-stream

to:

  1 multipart/mixed
  1.1 text/plain
  1.2 application/pgp-encrypted
  1.3 application/octet-stream

And I cannot find a way to make mutt parse these messages (i.e.
to recognize them as pgp-encrypted messages, ask for the
passphrase etc.). See also
