Mutt is not supposed to do things "automatically".
Mutt operates when the *user* types keys.
Mutt does not intend to be a mail filter.
Mutt shall not become a replacment for procmail.

but of course you can pipe a message to a script
which makes changes to the copy and hands it over
to sendmail which will hand it over to the MDA
and over to the filter will will store it in the
same folder. and then you can delete the original.

the script is up to you, of course.
