I've been trying out setting delete=ask-no, and seeing if I can live with that. It seems bearable, but still a minor nuisance. However, if I respond "no" that I do not want to purge message, it seems that new messages do not show up in the inbox. As soon as I respond with a "yes", the new messages show up. Is there any way to allow new messages to show up without purging messages from a mailbox? Paul
