If anyone wants to put some energy into this try and get Microsoft to adhere to a few standard standards with regard to email, that would be some achievement. To answer your question I should think there is zilch you can do about it. Sounds to me like the pine-people are just batting you off. Inter-operabilty.. who needs it ..lol.
