Someone promised to work on this quite some time ago, but didn't
deliver.  So, yes, there is no S/MIME support in mutt, and you are
certainly welcome to add it.  (While doing so, please try to stick
with the style of the rest of mutt's code.  There are some notes on
this topic in doc/devel-notes.txt.)
