Right so, thanks.
Earlier on, Pete Toscano pointed out about procmail support for maildir:
yes, but you need a patch.
http://www.qcc.sk.ca/~bguenter/distrib/procmail-maildir/
which, in my case, there was no need for such a patch. It may be
implemented as from procmail v3.13.1. Anyway, thanks Pete for the
trailing slash tip.
Also, Kim DeVaughn argued that disk space requirements of maildir style
boxes were somehow higher than that of mbox style ones. Well, that's
correct ... I copied all messages from an mbox mailbox to a new maildir
style mailbox (BTW, tagging all messages, and then copying them all from
mbox to maildir mailbox worked perfect) and the comparing result for a
number of 207 messages was:
Maildir mbox
------- ----
$ du -b ~/Mail/debian $ du -b ~/Mail/debian-en
1024 ~/Mail/debian/new 931683 ~/Mail/debian-en
923186 ~/Mail/debian/cur ^^^^^^
1024 ~/Mail/debian/tmp
926258 ~/Mail/debian
^^^^^^
$ du -k ~/Mail/debian $ du -k ~/Mail/debian-en
1 ~/Mail/debian/new 915 ~/Mail/debian-en
1019 ~/Mail/debian/cur ^^^
1 ~/Mail/debian/tmp
1022 ~/Mail/debian
^^^^
I guess the difference is not that big that one should start worrying
about maildir space requirements ... unless, of course, that someone's
mailboxes are filled with many thousands of messages.
