I don't understand exactly what you meant here. Are you saying that
others often quote badly (too much, entire message, sigs) and therefor
we should not mention the length of your signature? He's doing worse so
don't tell me i'm doing bad?
>Also in todays age of superfast connections that my preference for an

Yes it is. Because this argument is also used for html and binary
postings (in email and on Usenet). I have several ways to connect to the
internet, but both my mail- and newsserver are connected via a 28k8
modem. I have to pay for my downloads (i live in Holland, i have to pay
my telco for being connected to my isp).
Bad quoting, html, binaries and (to a certain extend) signatures all
make me pay for things i did not want and which are useless to me. I
know, not all the mails are that informative, but a signature is
appended every time. And again.
Maybe you have a 'superfast connection', others don't.
>Particullary that my sig is
>non commercial
>useful
>and now... entertaining ;-)
I wouldn't mind what's in your sig. Signatures should be judge on form,
not on content. I don't care if you put a commercial message, the phone
number of your mother-in-law, icq numbers or whatever in your sig, but i
do care when it comes to the size.
By the way, what i couldn't find anything 'useful' in your signature.
The url could be, but i haven't seen your page yet.
>Afterall this is the internet, where Im sure there are better things to foucus
>on then a "fortune" being generated by my Linux system
Yes... afterall this is the internet, where i'm sure there are better
things to to download from.
A signature is maximum 80 by 4 characters in size, and should begin with
a sig-delimiter (dash-dash-space).
