That's fine Matthias. I appreciate your work, which I've pulled into the other patch series. Rene's comments are helpful about commit messages, and I have more work to do myself, to make mine better too.

He posted a link to an interesting video in <[email protected]> that I need to watch again.

I'd seen source formatting discussions fly by but stayed out of them, so if there's something that was agreed on, feel free to point me to the consensus (if there is one) or just tell me which commit you want reworked and I'll see to it. I don't want to make adoption/integration harder than needed.

We did some minor reformats to the source code, but nothing in the Makefiles. We now use foo() instead of foo (), and made pointer stars consistently next to the variable name, int *foo, instead of int* foo.
