Not much has changed with this between 1.7.0 and 1.8.0. So my first suspicion is a compilation difference. If you run: ldd /path/to/mutt1.8 | grep curs Do you see libncursesw in the output (wide-char version of ncurses)? You may also want to look through https://dev.mutt.org/trac/wiki/MuttFaq/Charset to see if any of those answers help. -- Kevin J.
