That's darn close to the current situation, just replace your
theoretical -E with the existing --, so

>     mutt -a *.{jpg,png} -E {foo,bar,[EMAIL PROTECTED]

becomes

     mutt -a *.{jpg,png} -- {foo,bar,[EMAIL PROTECTED]
