Thanks for the suggestions Samuel ... But I guess that using preset insane changes the compression from VBR to CBR which I do not prefer ... Sorry I shud have mentioned which LAME version I use ... I have two with me infact and the first one says: LAME version 3.96 MMX (http://www.mp3dev.org/) and the other says LAME version 3.97 MMX (alpha 1, Apr 12 2004 06:00:31) ( http://www.mp3dev.org/) warning: alpha versions should be used for testing only I figured not to play with the alpha, also Samuel you mentioned that the recommended ones are 3.90.3, 3.96.1 Mine just says 3.96 MMX, how do I find the version details ...
Also as I said I am new to this I tend to explore things ... When I look at the meta data for any MP3 file on myhard drive, be it downloaded ones or the ones I freshly create thru LAME I get this in the COMMENTS: This audio file has been encoded by an evaluation version of Audio Converter for evaluation purposes only. For licensing information of Audio Converter see: http://www.audioconverter.info/ordering.php Dont know what this is ... I was trying out many programs before I stumbled upon lame and this program might have been one of them ... have tried hard to check for this online to see how I could remove the same but with no success ... Does any one else have similar problem? I tried many tag editing software including WinAmp, tried changing the comments but they always get back to what I mentioned earlier ...
