Click "Reply-to-all"
 -> you are replying to the list ( and to the author also )

Click "Reply-to-all" , 
double click the authors address ( or drag-select it ) and hit backspace 
 -> reply to list only


Now replying to author with reply-to :

Click select and copy the authors address ,
click "replay",
delete the list address and paste over it the author address
 -> reply to author only


Now which one is more complicated ?

This particular list has probably more replies to the list that to individuals,
so I would not get mad if it switched back to Reply-To.
