Could you tell me what have you done to solve your problems ? I have installed the 4.2.5 version of Mono for Android and I dont see the UI Designer. No entry "Android Designer" in "Open With...", no controls in toolbox, no designer, and the "Target Android Device" dropdown is greyed out the same way as you. I have also uninstall everything, Mono, SDK, and reinstall, but without success. I am running Win 7 64. I will appreciate any help. I can select between "Prompt For Device" and a specific AVD. I did upgrade to 4.2.5 a while ago, but that is all. So apparently if you're having trouble with that widget, you might try being patient. (I still have to explicitly Right Click | Open With | Android Designer to edit .axml files in designer view even though it's marked as "Default" on that screen, but that's actually how I like it.) -Max -- Hahahahaaaa!!!
