It should be a fairly straightforward repair Lawrence.

Looks like soldering would resolve the leak but it may be best to have to
have the parts all separated to get to the actual tank rather than soldering
up around the support bracket. Once you remove the rad you will no doubt get
a better handle on it!

Subject: [mogtalk2] leaking radiator '96 4/4

Hi guys,

Since our son took his Series III Landy to his new home I've become used to
a fairly dry garage floor, BUT, a few days ago a very small amount of water
was gathered beneath the front of the Mog (1996 4/4 short-door, silver-top
Zetec 1800). I checked and found that there was a wet patch on the bottom of
the radiator. By the look of the underseal, or lack of (as in photo
attached) over a small area, this could have been there for a while. Anyway
last night I dried the area around the leak and this morning it is clear
that it is a very slow leak at the moment as the slight water run in the
photo shows. Under pressure things might change of course.

I know there was a recent discussion on more modern Mogs but is this a known
weak point?

Is it the seam you can see in the photo that has failed or does this leak
possibly indicate something more fundamental further into the rad?

My inclination at the moment is to use K-seal and think about replacing the
radiator and hoses over the winter if necessary.

Any experience or knowledge of this problem very welcome.
