Not quite, the module was uploaded and indexed, and was in use as example code. This is *not* a reservation. Please notice the *lack of intent* here for Math::Simple to be indexed. > If Inge wanted to use it for anything at any > time, he could have done so as easily as asking. Names are indexed by uploading, not by asking. > Now when I > investigate the usage and availability, I'm told it is reserved > by someone who has not had minimal interest in it for 11 years. So what? It is perfectly possible for you to take over the name for a different purpose. > But you did say this discussion was framed in the culture of working > code. The name has been reserved for 11 years w/o working code. That's not what I meant. > It's more of a bother for me If you have no patience to have other people sort out PAUSE permissions for you, then you are free to occupy a different unused name. I advise you to wait it out and bridge the time by publishing the code on Github or similar, and posting to <http://prepan.org>, <http://perlmonks.org/?node=Meditations> and this list in order to get feedback on it. Judging by your latest CPAN release, you very much would benefit from feedback.
