Hi!
I would like to report a bug in the mplex program.

I was using ffmpeg to convert a pal dvd to ntsc.
I got the menus and everything working with dvd(un)author
and sp(un)mux. But after all the problems were solved,
and the 10 short films were done and the menus all
worked perfectly, there was just one film that had
weird audio skips, for several seconds at about 1 minute
into the 5th film, and then right before the credits roll.
It was amazingly stable problem. DVD shrink didn't affect it,
changing the bitrate or the maxrate or the bufsize didn't
affect it. I had to use dgpulldown simply because ffmpeg
wasn't up to the job of changing the framerate smoothly enough.

I tried using audio from another film, and the sound-skipping
problem remained in the same place. Anyway, after trying
a bunch of stuff, I finally tried muxing with muxman instead
of mplex, and the problem went away. I have since also
tested ImagoMPEG-Muxer, and that works fine, too.

It is a huge relief to have a way to build this DVD without errors,
but it was a huge waste of my time trying to figure out what was wrong.
I hope you'll be able to fix it.

Please let me know if you have any other questions
or would like to see some of the input test files
I was using. I can recreate them and upload them
somewhere or place them where you can download them
if you want. But of course even the first 3 minutes of
video that I was testing is 55MB.

Maybe the vbr algorithm needs a tweak?

mjpegtools mplex-2 version 2.0.0 (2.2.3)

Thanks for your help!
