        The way I retain that information (and it travels with copies made
        of the DVD) is place all the scripts, still pictures used, etc) into
        a ROM directory at the top level of the DVD.  DVD players only look 
        at the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS directories and ignore everything else.
        Same type of thing can be done for VCDs/SVCDs with the
        '--add-file=' option to vcdimager.

        It's been interesting to go back and see the old proceedures that
        were used at one time.  No wonder some of the the videos look like
        something the cat coughed up :)
