I am also using Mandrake 10.0 Official with the 2.6 kernel.

1) lavrec is working fine(**) for me. How are you invoking lavrec?

2) lavplay (as built by Mandrake) does not have software playback enabled,
that's why the playback mode 'S' is unknown. If you run "lavplay -h", then
you can see which playback options are valid.

**
Does anyone do any editing of lavrec captured AVI files using VirtualDub and
the PICVideo codec under WindowsXP? When I capture with decimation = 1, I'm
only seeing the first field in the top half of a correctly sized frame
(http://dungan.webhop.org/video_clip.avi) This was working with Mandrake
9.1, but I can't figure out if it's a WindowsXP or lavrec/zoran-driver
problem.

I would greatly appreciate it if someone still using the 2.4 kernel could
capture me a single frame AVI using a command similar to the following.

  $ lavrec -f a -i N -a 0 -d 1 -S video_clip.avi

Hopefully, that can help me narrow down the problem.

Thanks,

Subject: [Mjpeg-users] lavrec and glav problems

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1

A new, clean install, Mandrake 10.0 Official, kernel 2.6.3-7mdk.

I have recorded a clip (around 1.5 minutes) which, according to the
preview in Konqueror is fine, but I have two problems.

1) The name I give the file is lost - each time it is saved simply as
'i' and I have to rename it.

2) I cannot play it back using glav. First, I used the syntax that I
have used before:

++: lavtools version 1.6.1.93
[EMAIL PROTECTED] david]$ glav -p S test2.avi
++: **ERROR: [lavplay] Unknown playback mode: 'S'

So, from the parameter listing I tried:

++: lavtools version 1.6.1.93
[EMAIL PROTECTED] david]$ glav -p H test2.avi
++: **ERROR: [lavplay] Could not set on-screen window parameters (check
framebuffer-params with v4l-conf): Invalid argument

How are the framebuffer parameters set? I can't remember what I did
about this before, and I seem to have forgotten to document that part.

Anne
