Thats funny. Without changing anything else, I just re-compiled the mjpegtools tarball
(1.6.1-90) _after_ installing jpeg-mmx and mpeg2enc started to work properly! In fact
I saved the old/new binaries of mpeg2enc and just by changing the binary in the
commandline generated by dvd::rip was the difference between properly encoding and
getting errors!

So, it does seem like jpeg-mmx has something to do with this in 1.6.1-90 at least. I
am not sure how my "old" (1.6.1) binary was compiled since I got that from
freshrpms.net.

Thanks
