Hi Steven,

Thanks a lot, going through all the trouble of checking these things!

If I understand correctly what you are saying, configuring libdv with
--with-pal-yuv=YV12 is all I need to do to get dvgrab's dv2 output to
work with lav2yuv? That is actually what I tried (see my mail that
started the thread), and the result was correct in aspect, but wrong in
color (all green with purple). If you want, I can send a screenshot. Or
maybe, I should, as you mentioned in your first reply, configure
mjpegtools with --with-dv-yv12 as well?

Maarten

Okay, I thought I read somewhere that the combined audio and video bitrates
should not exceed 2600 kbps, but I now see that it is 2756 kbps.

If you say "much higher rates", what should I be thinking of? Or is this
really very player dependend? Does anybody know of a list of player specs?

Okay, but in case I do it in one step, what will bitrate will the
resulting mp2 audio be? 256? (2756-2500?) And will it have been resampled
at 44100?

These are generally harmless and don't affect video quality. They should
probably be renamed to meaningful warnings. Will do with my next putback.

Thanks,
Roman.

Please, try ffmpeg from the cvs, and if it continues to give you trouble --
please let me know, I will try to fix it.

Thanks,

Did you recompile the driver itself with bigphysarea support? The error
messages from 'dmesg' indicate that the driver is compiled without
bigphysarea support.

And yes, this should be documented, I fully agree. ;).
