Is that also PAL or NTSC?

I did try with raw output, but it did not work well either (don't
remember what happened exactly.. I will try it later on)

Okay, I will try that. I do like mplayer, so thats no problem. I did
manage to convert dv to svcd with transcode, but I found the result a
bit disappointing. That's why I wanted to try the mjpeg tools.
