Don't know... As said, I've got some code locally, but it doesn't do hw MJPEG. It should improve audio recording, though. I'm working on that too, but GStreamer is really a lot more difficult than a simple 'take some input and write some data to disk' approach. GStreamer will improve this, definately, but it'll take some time before we'll see a gst-based recorder.
